Elizabeth Torres Evans was born February 27, 1955 in Kingsville, Texas. She grew up in California where two of her children and five grandchildren reside. Her youngest daughter is a 1st Class Petty Officer in the Navy stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia. A paralegal for over 20 years she works for a family law attorney in Durham, NC. She is the President of the El Toro Fall Bash Non-Profit organization that raises money for judo students to help off-set competition expenses. She and her husband, a Marine veteran who has roots in Oxford make their home nearby on three acres near Franklinton, North Carolina.

Elizabeth’s currently working on a memoir. Her husband, Chester was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder not long before they married. As a Navy brat, veteran wife and active duty mom, Elizabeth has a unique perspective on military families, the toll PTSD can have on the men who serve, and on the families who love and support them.
